In vitro site-directed mutagenesis is an important methodology used to study protein structure-function relationships, identify intramolecular regions or amino acids that may mediate these functions, analyze gene expression and modify vectors. Many published mutagenesis methodologies are labor intensive and technically difficult to perform. With many years of experience in mutational manipulation, Retrogen has developed its own methodology that allows us to finish any mutagenesis project at very fast turnaround time and at a very affordable price.

Requirements for Mutagenesis Projects
Complete DNA sequence of the entire plasmid, both the gene and the vector
Indication of codon changes needed (specific individual base changes)
Other changes (deletions, insertions, restriction site changes) clearly indicated
2-5 µg of starting template
Note: If the complete sequence of the plasmid is not known, Retrogen will evaluate the project based on the known sequence and determine whether it should be attempted. If the project cannot be completed, the customer will be billed for the full project price to compensate Retrogen for any time, effort and materials used.
Note: All DNA sequence information should only be submitted as a Word file or Plain Text. Genbank or other published references are not acceptable.
